New Build Homes on Bridge Road, Mepal

The site is located at the edge of Mepal village at the north part of Bridge Road, close to the bridge over New Bedford River. The design aim was to create a sustainable detached two storey family homes for the long-term future. The ground floor layout provides space for family gathering (open plan kitchen and dining/living area), socialising or working (office space) from home if required. It is a flexible arrangement suitable for the current and future needs of the family. A new entrance is projected from the main elevation, makes the front door visible and welcoming, providing a porch on the ground floor and a siting/working area on the first floor, making the entrance more dominant, but within the scale of the building. The house is designed with the strong connection with a garden and nature, making it a crucial part of home, forming a vibrant and green external living area. Glass rear patio door connects living space with the rear garden.
