Ground Floor Rear Extension & Ground Floor Infill Side Extension in Cherry Hinton, Cambridge

The property is a typical red brick mid 20th Century semidetached house, located in a quiet residential area of Cherry Hinton. The aim of this project was to reconfigure the existing house and to transform it into a more sustainable and energy efficient family home, with flexible family spaces. The Proposed Rear Extension was lined up with the rear wall of existing rear extension. The existing car port with corrugated roof at the side of the house was demolished and replaced with the Ground Floor Side Infill Extension. This Side Extension was lined up with the side wall of the existing extension, providing the house with the additional bedroom and ground floor toilet. These arrangements aimed to form a ground floor wrap around the main house with lean-to roofs.
