The property is located in a narrow plot between Trafalgar Street and back Lane in the De Freville Conservation Area, which area abuts the back Lane. The flat roof garage in poor condition was located at the rear of the property, facing the back Lane. The proposal included alterations to existing garage and small extension to it to form Annex. The footprint of proposed Annex adequately respects the constrains of the site. The existing walls of the garage are kept and insulated from inside.
