Ground Floor Front Extension in Sough- the first of its kind in the area
We proudly present our groundbreaking project—a full-width ground floor extension at the end of a 1960s terrace in Slough. Not only is this extension a testament to modern design, but it also holds the distinction of being the first of its kind in the area.
This strategic masterpiece was achieved against the odds through a successful planning appeal, marking a significant milestone in architectural innovation. Facing the challenge of no local precedents for full-width front extensions, we meticulously studied the local context, preserving amenity space to avoid overdevelopment.
Our approach was guided by a thorough examination of the council’s local plan and a careful deciphering of planning guidance. The latter, with its cautious wording stating that full-width front extensions are “not normally permitted,” led us to craft a proposal that not only adheres to guidelines but challenges the norm. Remember, “normally” isn’t an absolute requirement in all cases.
