Modern Extensions in Horningsea Conservation Area
Nestled in the picturesque Horningsea Conservation Area, this project features three contemporary extensions to a traditional house located adjacent to a historic listed pub. The primary objective was to enhance the living space for the family while maintaining a respectful dialogue with the surrounding heritage architecture.
Our design philosophy centered on creating a harmonious relationship between the modern extensions and the existing structure, ensuring that the new elements would not impose on or overshadow the listed building. Instead, the contemporary design serves to highlight the historical character of the pub by offering a striking contrast. This approach not only respects the past but also enriches the visual narrative of the area.
Key Features
- Three Modern Extensions: Each extension has been thoughtfully designed to seamlessly integrate with the existing home while providing spacious and light-filled living areas.
- Functional Living Space: The new designs accommodate the needs of a modern family, enhancing their lifestyle through open-plan layouts and flexible living options.
- Respect for Heritage: Careful attention was paid to the materials and aesthetics, ensuring the extensions complement the traditional architecture and contribute positively to the conservation area.
